What's the best scanner

Does anyone have a preference (useability, sensitivity, etc.) between the Uniden scanners and the Radio Shack scanners? Does one have better signal reception over all of the bands (low, high, UHF, 800)?

I would recommend buying one of the new Uniden Digital Scanners since many agencies are going digital.
